JLD Custom Homes slogan is simple, “Building custom style homes for that discerning buyer”.  Each home goes through a rigorous inspection process throughout its’ construction.  With management that has over 40 years of experience in the new home business, we are able to ensure that each step in the process of building a home is completed to the highest quality and standards.

Jeff Dworkin, the President of JLD Custom Homes, has been in the business of building new homes for over 20 years.  Before starting JLD Custom Homes, Jeff was a Division President for one of the largest builders in the Metroplex.  Jeff personally walks each home throughout the process and performs an extensive final walkthrough to ensure that each and every JLD Custom Home is delivered to the “discerning buyer” in the most magnificent condition. 

Each home is professionally designed by one of Dallas’ pre-eminent home designers.  The interior finishes (cabinets, flooring, paint, brick color, etc.) are then selected by a professional designer.  Brand name products like Whirlpool, Kitchenaid, Carrier, Delta, Pittsburgh Paint, Hardie, Kwikset are used throughout the construction of each home.  

Each home is backed by a comprehensive 1 year warranty, a 2 year mechanical warranty and a 10 year structural warranty.  The 10 year structural warranty is backed by Bonded Builders Warranty for your peace of mind.

with 2011 Excellence in Energy Performance Award

Dallas, TX—Oncor recognized JLD Custom Homes for its outstanding commitment to the construction of homes that exceed ENERGY STAR® energy efficiency specifications.  JLD Custom Homes was one of nine Texas homebuilders to be awarded with a 2011 Excellence in Energy Performance Award.

“JLD Custom Homes is a leader in raising the standards for energy-efficient home construction in Texas,” said Mike Stockard, Energy Efficiency Manager with Oncor.  “Their commitment to build energy-efficient homes demonstrates their dedication to provide homeowners with a better lifestyle and more value for their money.”  

“JLD Custom Homes is proud to provide homeowners with high-performance homes that decrease energy demand, lower the cost of homeownership, and contribute to bluer skies in Texas,” said Jeff Dworkin, President.   “For the last few years, we have built all  of our homes to qualify under the ENERGY STAR program throughout the Dallas area”. 

The nine winners were selected from a group of more than 100 homebuilders – all participants in the 2010 ENERGY STAR Homes Program sponsored by Oncor.  This annual award recognizes homebuilders in the Program who construct the largest volume of homes with the lowest average HERS Index rating compared to other Program participants.  Collectively, this year’s winners averaged 33 percent above code on the homes they constructed. Minimum ENERGY STAR specifications require that a home achieve an Index rating of 85 which is 15 percent above 2004 International Residential Code (IRC).  Homebuilders can qualify for the award in two categories based on the total volume of homes they build.   

JLD Custom Homes was the winner for the Dallas/Fort Worth Low Volume category.  The HERS Index ratings of all homes constructed by each homebuilder were averaged to calculate a cumulative score that represents their entire inventory.  The scores were ranked and the highest ranked homebuilder from each category was identified as the winner.
